So I will try my hardest to condense our busy December into some important point forms with a few explanations so as not to bore you with tons of details. Olivia is amazing she amazes me more and more everyday....and of course I think she is the most beautiful girl in the world and the smartest....perhaps I am biased:) So here's how December went:
- At the end of November we decorated the house for Christmas
- Olivia had her first bad tumble, Daddy was trying to get her coat on and she lunged forward and did a face plant off the chair into the carpet. I think Daddy was more upset then Olivia but she had no bruises or bumps to show for her effort.
- She is learning more and more sign language and now knows how to sign more, all done, milk, drink, and thank you.
- We went out and picked her first Christmas tree and did our traditional decorating while listening to Christmas music and ordered Chinese food for dinner
- We took Olivia and met some friends at the Christmas parade in Lynden, Wa. It was at night and all the floats had lights on it. It was so cute to see the babies all bundled up but they seemed to enjoy it and we all had fun!!
- She learned to drink from a straw and now drinks everything in her cup with her straw. She still has 2 bottles a day but hope to ween her off those shortly after she turns 1!!
- We had our 2nd annual Christmas open house and had lots of friends and loved ones over to see our decorations and enjoy some yummy food and treats!!
- Went to the Christmas program at our church and Olivia loved all the singing and music. She saw the kids choir sing away in a manger then on the way home that song came on the radio and she joined her hands together i front of her and was rocking the baby!!! It was so cute!
- Olivia experienced her first snowfall and loved looking up and watching the snowflakes fall, she stuck her tongue out to try and catch them and got so excited she just squealed.
- we went to James St.(a senior park where everyone decorates their manufactured home with lights) and drove around so Olivia could see the Christmas lights. Angel and I have done this every year since we have been in Bellingham so it was fun to be able to take her this year and she loved it, we sat her in the front seat on my lap (I know just call me Brittany Spears) but your driving at like 5 mph so we thought it was okay, she kept pointing at the lights and going ooohh:)
- Olivia got to have a Mommy/Daughter and a Daddy/ Daughter shopping day!! We both took her out on our won and did Christmas shopping and then out for a special one on one dinner. So fun and it is a tradition I am excited to keep doing with her every year and once she is old enough I want to start going to a Christmas movie with her as well!!
- She opened her first Christmas party a little early, it was from her Auntie Dana, Uncle Todd and Brian, it was a fisher price manger set and she loves it!! She mostly chews on the animals and Mary and Joseph but she really likes it alot.
- We had our traditional Christmas eve celebration with Uncle Vince where we put out some h'or d'ouvres (sp??) and yummy Christmas sweets while we watched a Christmas movie. Then we got Olivia all ready for bed in her Christmas Jammie's, read her the Christmas Story book and her Night Before Christmas book then powdered her bed (Santa doesn't leave presents if your stinky:0) left a note for Santa with some cookies ad milk then off to bed she went!!
- Christmas day was awesome!! Santa came and left lots of things for Olivia!! We first sat in Mommy and Daddy's room and opened all our stocking stuff, then out to the living room we went and the present opening commenced. It was so fun to watch Olivia open all her presents. She seemed more interested in the paper bows and boxes then the presents themselves but she really had fun and we were all blessed and spoiled and got lots of nice gifts!! Then we had Meemaw and Papa over for Dinner and it was pretty tasty. We did ham, cheesy potatoes, sweet carrots, corn, rolls and pumpkin pie and jello for dessert!! It was a fun night and it was great to have Meemaw and Papa there to share her first Christmas!!
- Finally on December 31st we left for Vegas for Olivia to meet her Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles. So she had her first plane ride and did awesome!! She slept from take off for about an hour then ate some snacks and played a bit then she was looking around and talking and waving to everyone and then next thing you know we were there and she was giving high fives to everyone as they left the plane!! She was so good and so cute! Once we arrived at Mom and Dad's place she was bombarded with 28 family and friends who all wanted to meet her and hug her and well I thought for sure she was going to freak out but she didn't. She just looked around at everyone and had this look like these are my people and smiled!! She went to everyone and played with her cousins and just did great!! She ate some Filipino food for the first time and she seemed to really enjoy it. She stayed up and rang in the new year with us and finally got to bed around 2 a.m. (bad parents, I know).
So December was so busy and crazy, we went to a few craft shows and bought her a tutu for her Birthday and overall just had an awesome fun month of celebrating the birth of our Saviour!! She is just so good and sweet and we love her more and more everyday!! There are lots of pictures to see so I hope you enjoy them!! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season and have a blessed 2010!!
