Hello again!! I already posted about our Easter but I thought I would update you all on the past month!! April has been great! Olivia is getting bigger and bigger and doing so many more amazing things:) Still can't believe sometimes that we have her, she's really ours and such a blessing!
Olivia is becoming quite the social butterfly, she has had play dates with Luke, Kameron, Jackson and Jaeden, and Max and Levi!! All boys which Daddy doesn't like much, just kidding he loves all the boys, but she has so much fun just looking at the other kids! I have a couple of cute pictures of her with Luke which I posted below:)
As I said she is growing and doing so many things. She lifts her head up really well and loves sitting up as much as possible it seems like she is always trying to sit up on her own. She really likes it when we hold her hands and pull her into a sitting position and then stand her up!! She is constantly looking around and is interested in everything!! She is grabbing her toys really well and using both hands sometimes. Apparently her fingers taste amazing as she is constantly eating them and she is drooling like a champ!! She is starting to try and roll on her own but will roll both from back to front and front to back with some assistance. She also is laughing a real out loud laugh now!! So cute I love hearing her laugh it's so sweet and funny! I just can't believe how much she is changing and coming into being her own little person. She hates being hot, doesn't like having bows and headbands on, she loves music and dancing, and so much more! Lots of fun figuring out who this little girl is:)
We did go on an adventure when we took her swimming for the first time!! We found a suit for her and got some swimmer diapers and away we went. First we just put her feet in a bit and she seemed good, then we went in a little deeper and things did not go well:( She began to cry and was not too happy with the whole situation. We tried some different things but she was still upset so out we went. I thought she might be hungry so we fed her at which time she fell asleep!! So here we are having paid to go swimming for the 3 of us and we were sitting holding her whilst she had a nap! This gave Angel a chance to take a dip in the big pool and about 30 minutes later she woke up and we thought we would try again. Second time was a success!! She loved it!! She kicked her feet with help and we dipped her in and out and just played around with her for a bit and she seemed to really enjoy it and have fun!! All in all it was an interesting and fun adventure and we hope to take her swimming again really soon!!
Angel and I are doing great! Angel is still working hard as always and I love being a stay at home Mom. There have been a few changes for us with regards to Olivia as well. I no longer sit in the back seat with her when we go out as a family I have graduated back to the front seat, we have started letting Olivia settle herself to sleep more, which has been really successful! She has had a couple rough nights but all in all it seems to be going good, we hate to hear her cry a little but she doesn't even really cry she just kind of shouts her disapproval and then settles to sleep usually through the night. We also moved her crib from our room into her own room, that happened just last night and she did just fine with it, Mom on the other hand was not so successful, I basically cried myself to sleep and woke at 5:30 worried since we hadn't heard from her and went to check on her to find her totally fine and then I couldn't get back to sleep and stayed awake till she got up at 7am. It was good for her as Angel snores and I am a very light sleeper and wake at every little noise and then am restless trying to get back to sleep so she ended up sleeping from 9 till 7!!
Angel and I also got to go out on our first date since Olivia was born! Olivia's Auntie Dana came over and looked after her while Angel and I went to Apple bee's for dinner and then to Mallard's for Ice cream. We were only gone for 2 hours or so and it was really strange being out without her but it was also fun and a nice break. Olivia did pretty well Dana said she cried on and off and kept looking around for us but we are hoping to plan more outings so she can get used to be around other people and not be fussy or cry.
It's hard being a parent you always want to do what's best for your baby and for us we want to balance having Christ first then our relationship as husband and wife and then our little girl. I worry so much if we are doing the right things, if she's healthy and happy and what people will think of us when we say we let her cry herself to sleep a little bit, but I have realized I need to trust my instincts, love my daughter and do what works for her and for us. I need to trust God and not let worry and guilt over take everything. She is just an amazing little girl and we love her so much!!
Well I think that should bring you all up to speed. We are looking forward to our birthdays and Mother's and Father's day with our little girl and can't wait for the months ahead to see how she grows and what she does!!
Here are some pictures of our month..... enjoy!!!
