On May 17th Olivia was dedicated at our church, Christ The King, and then we had a Christening Service at Meemaw and Papa's house. It was a beautiful day and everything worked out perfect. Pastor Grant Fishbook did the dedication during the 11:30 a.m. service and then my Uncle Harry Schell did the Christening service after. The dedication was awesome!! Pastor Grant made me cry, not that that is difficult, but his words were amazing and his prayer over us and her meant so much to us!! I had my eyes closed but a few people peeked and said Olivia stared at him the whole time he prayed with her and she was just so calm and happy on stage, but then again she's pretty much always calm and happy!!
The Christening was beautiful. We had lots of friends and some family there. Uncle Vince and Auntie Candy came from Canada and of course Uncle Harry and Aunt Shirley were there from Canada also. Uncle Todd, Auntie Dana, Uncle Jeff and Auntie Cheryl are Olivia's Godparents and Meemaw and Papa, Joel and MaryAnn Baker, are Olivia's honorary Grandparents so they all stood up with us for Olivia's Christening, my Uncle Harry said some beautiful things and then she was baptized with a little water on her forehead. She did very well considering she missed her nap and it was pretty warm and she had quite the dress on and she was feeling hot!!
The food and festivities were great! Meemaw and Papa provided all the food, brisket, sausages, baked beans, potatoe salad, veggie tray, soda, sweet tea, coffee and an awesome jello cake, all we provided was Angel's spinach and artichoke dip with chips and a punch we love and have at our family special events. We just all sat and visited, the kids had fun playing in the backyard and because it was such a beautiful day we were able to do everything outside!! Olivia napped finally after all the festivities were over after all it was a big day and being the little social butterfly she is she got pretty worn out, not to mention all the costume changes Mommy had her go through:)
Thank you so much Meemaw and Papa for all you did to make the day so special, to Olivia's Godparents for being such a special part of her life and thank you to all our wonderful friends and family for coming to spend the day with us and be apart of dedicating our little miracle back to the awesome God who gave her to us in the first place!!
Here are some pictures of the Christening. I do have video but I don't know how to post that yet so I will try and figure that out and post some videos in the near fuuture!! Enjoy!!
