Well it's hard to believe but our sweet little girl is 6 months old!! My how the time flies!! She is getting so big and doing so many fun things but I am sad a little bit too as she is getting more independent and doesn't seem to need me for as many things:( I want her to stay this age forever, no more growing up!! Just kidding, lots to look forward to as she gets older, it's all part of this amazing journey and we feel just so blessed to get to hug her and kiss her and love her all day!!
She had her 6 month check up on the 17th and she is doing great!! For some reason I am always so paranoid and worried about her weight! Some people say she looks little others say big but according to our Doctor she is just right!! Here are the 6 month stats:)
Weight: 15 lbs 3oz
Height: 26 In
Head: 17 In
She is in the 30th percentile for weight and the 60th percentile for height so she is just fine and Mommy needs to chill out!!
She is eating really well and has cereal in the morning, fruit around lunch and then some veggies for dinner. She LOVES squash and pears and seems to also enjoy applesauce, carrots, sweet potatoes and peas!! We are going to introduce Mango, green beans and peaches this week so we'll see how that goes. The only food she seems not to like thus far is bananas, which is weird as her Daddy loves them as do I and so I thought she would too but she is an individual and has her own tastes and she loves the pears, as I mentioned before, which are her Daddy's favorites so there you go!! Daddy also taught her to sign more when she is eating and she does it very well, she just needs to remember that when she signs more she then needs to open her mouth and eat the next bite:)
She is still learning to sit up, we try to practise with her but she loves to roll around on the boppy and so we'll keep working on that. Our Doctor jokingly said "well in order for her to learn to sit you need to put her down once and a while" seeming to imply we hold her alot, now where he got that idea from I don't know but we'll keep practising the sitting:) On July 15th she did her first wave!! I was in the kitchen and waved at her and she waved back so cute! She has 2 teeth on the bottom and seems to be teething a bit this last week. We see some white on the top at the front so we think those must be on their way!
Olivia has now decided since she is 6 months old that she no longer always wants to nap with Mommy and can now go into her crib and fall asleep all by herself for naps!! It was really weird how it happened but I laid down with her to nap like always and she would not settle so I thought well I will lay her in her crib and she won't like it and then she will settle and nap with me, so I laid her down and waited...and waited...and next thing I know I go to check her and she's asleep!! So from that day forward I just lay her down in her crib at nap time and asleep she goes!! I still make her nap with me sometimes as I'm not ready to give that up totally!
On the 5th of July we went over to Canada to have lunch with the Herrod family!! While their Olivia acquired honorary grandparents, another Aunt and a couple more Uncles so that was fun and exciting and very much appreciated as we really want to have as much family and love surrounding this little girl as possible! We then went to Auntie Candy to make Jam!! It was a fun day and we hope to spend some more time with them whenever we can!
Angel and I are doing great! Angel is still working hard as always and is loving his new position at Wendy's as Shift Manager, and is still enjoying his job at Western. I LOVE being a Mom and looking after our sweet girl. We have lots of fun and activities we go to each week and I just love every minute of everyday with her.
I have posted some pictures including all her outfits:) Hope you enjoy!!
