Off To The Fair We Go.....

On Monday August 17th we went to the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden Washington. Angel and I have always gone to the fair since he moved here in 2001. In fact he worked at the fair for a couple years after he got here and I remember coming over to meet him and have a date night at the fair!! Well every year that we would go we would look at all the fun things for kids and babies and always say, "when we have kids I can't wait to bring them here!" Well our dream came true this year and we were able to bring our sweet girl to the fair!!

We arrived around 3pm and headed straight to the food:) Now if you know us at all you know we love to eat but it was also time for Olivia to have some fruit so we went in to the building and ate. Angel had mexican food and I had a good old fair corn dog and fries!! Olivia ate pears provided by Gerber then off to explore we went!

We went around the exhibits and sales booths first and found a place that sold beanie babies. They happened to have the Penguins of Madagascar Penguin Beanie so we bought that because Olivia LOVES the Penguins Of Madagascar!! She also was drawn to a red stuffed dog so we got her that too. We bought some caramel corn, for Dom, and at that place they had these cute zipper tags that had names on them so we found an Olivia one and bought that for her. After the Booths we headed to the barn where the cows were, she loves looking at the cows and was smiling at them.

Now just outside the cow barn was the children's area and how excited she got, we took her around to some of the booths that were selling things and got some cute pictures of her with various Princess crowns on her head and then we got in line for the Merry Go Round!! I took her on and she LOVED it she held onto the horse and kept looking around at everyone as we went around and around she seemed to just really enjoy it, and I of course was holding on to her for dear life:) After the Merry Go round it was Angel's turn to take her on the little cars, he got in and buckled her in and around they went. It was quite funny to watch because you could see Angel of course but Olivia wasn't tall enough to be seen over the hood of the car so I got a few pictures and some video but Olivia was missing in action for most of it:) She had fun with her Daddy and at this point it was time for a diaper change and to go find a cool place to sit and have a bottle. We passed by a couple game booths and Angel wanted to help Olivia play a game so she went fishing for a frog and won a little stuffed fish!! As we were headed for a table in the shade we saw a stand selling cute blow up characters on a stick so we checked them all out and although we were close to getting Dora the explorer we decided on a squeaky monkey, as it was smaller and she seemed to be far more interested in It than Dora!! So after the purchase we found our table and she drank her bottle and fell sound asleep!!

We put her in her stroller to have her rest and we decided to check out the other sales booth's outside of where we started when we got food. I bought a pair of sunglasses and Angel finally bought his helicopter!! It's a little remote control helicopter which he saw last year and never got but has kept talking about it and how he really wants to get one but everywhere he has looked they have been too expensive so I said ge it!! He was so excited it was so cute to see!! After about 45 minutes Olivia woke up and after another diaper change we head to find the Praise 106.5 booth and to see the horses and other animal barns toward the back of the fair.

We found the horses and Olivia was able to get up close to them and she really liked them, then we saw my friend Donna and she actually works for a stable and took us on a tour of the Clydesdale horses we got to see them up close and it was so interesting!! Donna took a nice family shot of us by 1 of the horses and it was just so fun, Thanks Donna!! After the horses we needed to eat again so I got a slice of Pizza and Angel got his favorite thing at the fair to eat, his Gyro!! Olivia ate Sweet potatoes and enjoyed them immensely then off for another diaper change and then time to head out to start heading home!

On the way out Angel came across a BBQ food booth and couldn't resist and BBQ sandwich which he loved and is now is his new official favorite fair food! We checked out a few things we missed and got to the Praise 106.5 booth. For some reason I was talking to Meemaw on the phone and she told us Papa Joel was there working so we headed to the insurance booth he was working at and had a visit with him. Of course on the way over there we just happened to pass by the funnel cake booth so I had to get one!! YUMMY!!

After a quick visit with Papa we headed out the gates towards the car and once all loaded in we headed home!! It was such a fun wonderful day and we just felt so blessed walking around and seeing the joy and happiness in Olivia's face!! We remembered tha last few years of going to the fair with the hope of her in our hearts and here we were with our sweet girl and we were just so thankful once again to God for the amazing blessing she is to us!! She fell asleep in the car on the way home and went right to bed and asleep once we arrived home!! Awesome and fun day was had by all!! Posted some pictures below Enjoy!!
